OPTI Nationals
Henry Chapman placed 43rd at OPTI Nationals in Virginia (out of 262 boats). He also took 3rd place for the White Fleet - the first and second places were not from the US. Also, he qualified for the Gold Fleet the first 2 days of the regatta (the top 25% of the fleet-he was 33rd out of the top 67 finishers). By placing in the top 50% overall he qualified to compete in Team Trials in San Francisco in May which determines the North American, European and World Team competitors.
OPTI Inland
Competing on Okauchee Lake were Carson Heinze, Ethan Heinze, Henry Chapman Carter Cooper, and Jack Tegeder. Henry placed 18th overall. Ethan placed 9th overall which gave him an invite for the OPTI Blue Chip. He was 2nd place in the red fleet (13-15 yrs. old).
Lake Country OPTIs
This regatta was held on four Fridays throughout the summer and had a total of 24 OPTI sailors from 6 different lakes. Our youth sailors included Jack Tegeder, Jack Behrend, Ethan Heinze, Carson Heinze, Carter Cooper, Avery Stuckart and Malloy Murphy. Carson Heinze finished 2nd and Jack Tegeder 3rd, overall. Carson and Jack also qualified for the OPTI Blue Chip through this regatta series.
OPTI No Tears Regatta
Our junior fleet consisted of Kent Attwell, Toby Lux , Alec Birbaum, and Olivia Zietlow. In the senior fleet were Mackenzie Attwell and Jack Tegeder who placed 3rd overall.
PRAM POWER
Alec Birbaum, Olivia Zietlow, Lindsay McClean, Marissa Tegeder, Oliviarose Champan were in the junior fleet, and Mackenzie Attwell, and Kent Attwell in the senior fleet, competed on North Lake. Oliviarose placed 4th overall.
X-WYA
Kelly Monahan, Jack Behrend, Alex Stuckart, Sean Nigel, Austen Ballmann, Carter Cooper represented NLYC at the WYA held on Oconomowoc Lake.
X-Boat Inland
Nine Nagawicka boats attended this regatta on Pewaukee Lake including Ethan Heinze and Paul Mclean, Jack Behrend and Kylie Ballman, Carter Cooper and Andy Westenberger, Alex Stuckart and Avery Stuckart, Austin Anderson and Allie Nigel, Austin Ballman and Jack Tegeder, Mathis Murphy and Malloy Murphy. In the junior fleet, Sean Nigel and Nathan Anderson placed 12th. Kelly Monahan and Emma Birbaum finished 17th in the senior fleet which qualified them for the Blue Chip.
X Blue Chip
Kelly Monahan & Emma Birbaum represented NLYC at this years invite only X Blue Chip regatta held on Cedar Lake August 13-14.
Opti Red, White & Blue Chip
Henry Chapman, Ethan Heinze, Jack Tegeder & Carson Heinze represented NLYC at the Red, White & Blue Chip regatta held August 15th - 17th on Lac LaBelle in Oconomowoc, with Henry Chapman finishing fourth overall in a fleet of 40 boats.
